February brings the end of deer season, and many hunters think they should still be in the deer woods, where there might still be big bucks chasing does. That’s why AON is giving hunters across the state the opportunity to voice their opinions on the issue with this year’s Rate Your Deer Season survey.

In addition, there are two other questions on the questionnaire below designed to give us and other readers an idea of how the deer season was across the state, and also how hunting has changed on everyone’s property over the last five years.

So, before you clean your rifles and stow your camo, take a minute to fill out the form below and mail it to us. Or just type out a quick e-mail. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for you to make your voice heard. We will print the results of this survey along with a selection of your comments in next month’s AON.

Carefully read the questions on the questionnaire below and respond by mail or by e-mail. If you want to respond by e-mail, it should look like the example below. Include comments at the bottom of your e-mail, and be sure to include the primary county you hunt.

Example:
Primary county hunted - Bibb
No. 1 - Good
No. 2 - Stayed the same
No. 3 - The season is fine as it is
The hunting on our property has gotten better because of sound management.

Feel free to submit comments about these or any other hunting-related issues in the same e-mail. We will choose and publish many of those comments to go along with the results of our poll. Send your replies to <carter@aonmag.com>.

AON will also accept votes and comments by mail. Cut out the coupon below, answer the questions — using a separate sheet of paper if you need more space — and send it to Rate Your Season, Alabama Outdoor News, 1414 Golden Springs Road, Suite 313, Anniston, AL 36207-6924.

No matter how you do it, the Rate Your Deer Season coupons or e-mails must arrive at AON headquarters no later than 5 p.m. on Feb. 8. We look forward to seeing what you have to say and sharing your responses with the rest of the state.
