We’re glad to report that AON’s Truck-Buck Shoot-Out will once again be one of the main attractions at the 29th Annual World Deer Expo July 20-22 at the Birmingham-
Jefferson Convention Complex. The Shoot-Out is open to all show-goers and will start at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 21. However, if you want a seat, we recommend you get there early. The Shoot-Out continues to grow in popularity as excited deer hunters nervously watch to see which Truck-Buck contestant will drive off in a brand-new pickup truck.
The Annual World Deer Expo will again be packed with vendors offering deals on the hunting gear you’ll need for the upcoming season. Also, an array of other attractions going on all weekend will provide plenty to do for anyone who enjoys the outdoors.
The Big Buck Recognition Awards will be going on all weekend, providing the opportunity for hunters to have official measurers score their racks for inclusion in the Alabama Whitetail Records. These bucks will also be on display for the public to see.
All you archers out there should bring your bows and compete in the Annual Bow Hunter Championship, a 3-D archery tournament being held by Bowhunters of Alabama (BHA). There are several different divisions to compete in, but you must be a BHA member to compete. Log onto <www.alabamabowhunter.com> for information.
In addition to these events, there will be several hunting trips given away, seminars by renowned professional hunters, live animal exhibits, taxidermy displays, kids’ activities and appearances by Lee and Tiffany Lakosky from The Crush, the Lizard Lick Towing Crew and Glenn and Mitchell Guist from Swamp People.
