These AON subscribers didn’t win the grand-prize pickup in Truck-Buck V, but each won a Mathews bow for having the best-scoring buck during a week of bow season. It’s time to start Truck-Buck all over again, a real thrill for the guys who work at AON magazine. And, it’s not a bad deal for the folks who subscribe to AON magazine either.
Truck-Buck is a statewide big-buck contest that awards weekly prizes for the best bucks taken each week of deer season. With 15 weeks, a Youth Week (Nov. 9-12) and three wildcard opportunities, there are 19 different scoring periods when AON subscribers have the chance to win prizes and spots in the Truck-Buck Shoot-Out, a pellet-rifle competition where a pickup truck is on the line. See page 38 for Truck-Buck V Shoot-Out results.
For Truck-Buck VI, our Weeks 1-4 winners win Mathews Hēli M bows. A CVA Accura MR muzzleloader with a Konus 3x9x40 scope with a soft case goes to the Week 5 winner, and Savage deer rifles will be awarded to the winners from Weeks 6-15. Our Youth Week winner will win a Savage youth rifle. Our three wildcard winners will win Hunter Safety System harnesses.
Our 19 scoring-period winners will compete in the Truck-Buck Shoot-Out next summer. One of them will win the grand-prize pickup truck.
The only prerequisite for entering the contest is to be an AON subscriber or a spouse or dependent of an AON subscriber before killing the buck you plan to enter.
Once you kill your Truck-Buck, enter it at www.aonmag.com or through the mail. Get your entry form (available in September-January issues of AON) and photos to AON within seven business days. Then at the end of the season, we’ll measure the racks to determine weekly winners and Shoot-Out qualifiers.
There’s no entry fee to enter the Truck-Buck contest. Just be a paid subscriber, spouse or dependent of an AON subscriber before you kill your buck.

$1,000 HSS Bonus
Make it a point to put on your Hunter Safety System (HSS) harness when you take your Truck-Buck VI entry photos. If you win a week or a wildcard spot in the Shoot-Out and then go on to win the Truck-Buck Shoot-Out, HSS will add a $1,000 bonus to go along with your brand-new pickup truck. Just be an AON subscriber to participate in AON’s Truck-Buck VI.
