Neely Henry: Level: 1.2 feet below full pool. Temp: 47 degrees. Clarity: Clear.

Bass: Tournament angler Kenny Pannell said bass fishing has been pretty good. “There have been a lot of good bass caught on rip-rap around the causeways and bridges on a jig ’n pig,” he said. “A brown jig with a blue or green trailer seems to work best. It’s surprising to me, but there are some bass still being caught out of the grass on a swimming jig. I can’t imagine that’s going to last much longer with the way the water temperature is dropping, but there was a tournament won here the other day on grass fish. I expect the bass to move off to the deeper structure any day now. Then it will strictly be jigs and finesse worms.”

Crappie: “Everybody I talk to says they just can’t catch any crappie,” Kenny said. “They still haven’t really moved up under the piers like they should have by now.”
