For four summers, AON has organized the Coyote Cull as an incentive to get hunters and trappers after coyotes at the time when fawns are dropping and hen turkeys are trying to raise poults. Our objective is to bring awareness about the damaging impact this non-native, invasive species is having. We also want folks to realize that if you have a coyote problem, it’s up to you to do something about it. The Coyote Cull hopefully got some folks to their property to get after the yotes. We know that killing coyotes in June and July is tough, but if you can kill a coyote now, it can make a real difference in fawn and poult survival on your property.

For the Coyote Cull, we conducted a random drawing from among the 41 entries. Here are the 2017 hunters and trappers who won prizes:

Trinity Custom Homes $500 Cash Prize: Offering more than 70 customizable home designs, Trinity has helped countless Southerners complete their dream of building on their own land. In Coyote Cull, Trinity provides a $500 donation that was won by Alan Barrett, of Cullman.

“I’m  45 years old, and I’ve never won anything,” said Alan, who can’t say that anymore!

The Mammoth Ranger 65 Cooler: Jed Mitchell, of Sterrett, won the Ranger 65 from Mammouth cooler, which retails for $300.

Predator Tactics Nightmare Predator & Hog Gun Light Kit: The Nightmare Kit from Predator Tactics, with a retail value of $289.95, went to Marc Hayes, of Brookwood.
