The 12 Alabama Conservation Officers who lost their lives in the line of duty have now been memorialized in Montgomery. The memorial is located on the fifth floor of the ADCNR headquarters in the Folsom Building on 64 North Union Street, and it is open to the public.
The Alabama Conservation Enforcement Officer’s Association was approached by WFF Law Enforcement Chief Matt Weathers about the idea and agreed to fund the project. The project was approved by ADCNR Commissioner Chris Blankenship.
Conservation law enforcement began in the state 110 years ago.
