Dog fighting and canned hunts are two things that turn my stomach, but you won’t see me toting any signs trying to get folks sent to prison over those issues. I know sportsmen could be next. Two organizations that pose the greatest threats to hunters and fishermen have been splashed all over the TV and newspapers recently. Michael Vick’s involvement with dog fighting set up the perfect publicity storm for the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). HSUS and PETA folks were on the national networks. Heck, I even saw a PETA person interviewed by sympathetic, appalled sportscasters on ESPN.
